MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's basketball team will host a charity exhibition game, presented by Coca-Cola, against Albany inside the WVU Coliseum on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross' hurricane relief efforts.
The WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics encourages fans to give a minimum donation of $5 per person. WVU students with a valid student ID can enter with a minimum donation of $1. All seating will be general admission on a first-come, first-serve basis. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m.
This charity exhibition game will replace the Gold-Blue Debut that was previously scheduled for Friday, Oct. 27.
West Virginia and Albany received an NCAA waiver to play the additional exhibition game with all proceeds benefiting the ongoing hurricane relief efforts. The two teams will play a regulation 40-minute game.
"We encourage everyone to come out to the WVU Coliseum to see our guys for the first time before we head to Germany to open the regular season," WVU coach Bob Huggins said. "But more importantly, we can use the game of basketball to provide relief and to raise as much money as possible in support of the hurricane relief efforts through the American Red Cross."
Most parking lots will be open at the WVU Coliseum and will be free of charge.
